Predicting your baby's gender with old wives' tales is not the most scientific or the most reliable method for predicting your baby's gender. This is one of the funnest methods that mothers use to predict their baby's gender. Have you heard someone tell you that if you are craving chocolate you are having a boy? This is apart of the old wives tales. Craving certain foods would tell you if you are having a boy or girl. I have been encountered with this tale myself. Here are some other old wives tale you may come across when trying to predict your baby's gender. Remember they are just tales but maybe not for you.
- Carrying High, Carrying low- They say if you are carrying low, you are going to have a boy. If you carry high, you are having a boy. In my case, according to this tale, it is true but there are scientists that say this method has nothing to do with gender.
- Heartbeats-If the fetal heart rate is above 140, then you are going to have a girl, and if it is below 140, you will have a boy. Scientists say this has nothing to do with gender.
- Weight Gain-If your partner gains weight, then its going to be a girl, and if he doesn't gain any weight, its going to be a boy.
- Urine and Drano Test- If you take a sample of urine and mix it with Drano and if it turns yellow, brownish, black or blue, you'll have a boy and if it turns to a green, greenish brown, or blue color, you're having a girl. I wouldn't try this because of the smell or possibility of explosion.
- Cravings- Craving something sweet? You're having a girl. Cant get enough of sour tasting stuff? You're having a boy. According to scientists, cravings don't exist so therefore cant determine your baby's gender.
